After a 12 year hiatus in the rap game, Harlem’s own Herb McGruff “The Crime Dog” is back and he’s on a mission to revive the music and culture that he once took a bloodhound dog size bite out of. During the ’90s golden era, while Big L was holding down 139th & Lenox, McGruff was one block away sharpening his dart game on 140th & Lenox. It was just a matter of time until the legendary emcee, Big L, founded the Harlem Hip Hop crew “The Children of The Corn” with Cam’ron, Ma$e, Bloodshed and Herb McGruff. Gruff put his stamp on New York Hip Hop officially debuting on Big L’s “Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous,” eventually scoring him a deal with Uptown/Universal. In 1998, McGruff released his debut full length album titled “Destined To Be” which boasted production from Heavy D and Ty Fyffe and featured the likes of Mr. Cheeks, Cam’ron, Ma$e, Big L, and The LOX.

"Nuclear Winter represents many things. It represents dark times in our lives, it represents the state of NY hip hop & how I feel about it, & it represents my blueprint on how I think the music should be done going forward into the future. This is my manifesto to all the people that doubted me & the kryptonite to all selfishness. It's a journey from darkness into light, & from bondage & the huge amounts of weight on our shoulders to breaking free and regaining our freedom. Nuclear Winter we're coming to take shine....." - Willie Maze
