(R&B Artist Spotlight/Video) @MACKWILDS - "New York: A Love Story"

It's rare that I spotlight an R&B artist on here, but then again... there hasn't been many from the new generation that have caught my attention. The era I was a fan of, included artists like Mary J., Jodeci, Total, Faith Evans, etc. Amerie was probably the last new R&B artist I really got into. Some of you will recognize Mack from his acting, his most famous role is Michael Lee from The Wire.

What caught my attention about Mack's music is, pretty much the beat selection. On his debut album New York: A Love Story, Mack, flips a lot of underground hip hop classics into great new knockin' R&B tunes. Assisted by well known hip hop producer Salaam Remi, they cook up a throwback 90's R&B/NY hip hop gumbo into a very nice debut LP for Mack Wilds. I highly recommend the album, especially for people who are 90's heads like myself.... I promise you won't be dissappointed.

Check out a quick documentary below where Mack takes you threw his old stomping grounds in Staten Island and talks about the album. Also posted is his latest video off the project entitled "Own It". Follow Mack Wilds on Twitter.

This is my kind of party right here.

Download song: http://www.mistergrenada.com

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/mrgrenada

Corkit Harriman, Mr. Grenada sets off this Carnival season, Spicemas 2013 with this very catchy and thought provoking song. This tune was voiced at Homebase Studios in St. Georges, Grenada and Produced by O-Banga (O-Banga Productionz) a Dominican born producer who is currently based in the Bronx, New York City. This song song also has a very seductive video with a wild and interesting lead character, "Chucky" from the Child's play movies. It's a very Colorful and unique video, with some surprises. In the Video, the girls, basically dance to the music, waving their panties, with their Grenadian colours, drinking Grenadian liquor, such as Rivers and Clark's Court.

(Artist Spotlight/Video) GINA MONTANA [ @GINAMONTANABK ] - "MORNING GLORY"

Yo I haven't heard a female spit like this in a minute.....well maybe not ever. Before you go all crazy on me saying I'm wilding, what I'm talking about is the passion and pain in her voice. Maybe she just knocked it out the park on this record and I need to listen to more of her discography, but this record right here is crazy to me. The flow is retarded, add that to  some good heartfelt lyrics and you have yourself a pretty good record. She said: "Looks like the next Pac has a twat..." ha! To top it all off, she's from Coney Island, a place that was pretty much my second home growing up as a young yout'. In this video you get a little glimpse of the devastation from last years hurricane, but maybe that hurricane should've been named Gina Montana.

(Artist Spotlight/Video) @360ismusic & @DenzilPorter - "Subway Series"

While the rest of the hip hop blogosphere trip over themselves in a race to post the same content, we here @ Queens-HipHop.com take pride in trying to spotlight new under the radar talent. In the case of 360 & Denzil Porter, what caught my attention was the concept of their latest video entitled Subway Series. Anybody born & raised in NYC knows about the infamous borough rivalries, & in this cut 360 & Denzil go at it representing two boroughs with a long history of hip hop feuds going back to the days of KRS & Shan. Like I said really dope concept and execution, check it out. Download available HERE, & oh yeah, #Queens all day....

Brooklyn's T.H.E.M. Recordings unveil their latest signee Innocent?, who kicks off the album campaign for his forthcoming 'Love It Or Hate It' LP, with the visuals for the Roc Marciano assisted single "Time For Change." Production for the single is supplied by France's Alterbeats crew who blend triumphant horn stabs and hard drums alongside DJ Modesty's scratch chorus that fuses quotables from M.O.P., and A.G. Directed by Donald Robinson Cole III, the video depicts both emcees swapping verses in front of various Manhattan backdrops as they declare their resolution to stop waiting for change and make it happen themselves. 'Love It Or Hate It' is scheduled for an early third quarter 2013 release and is set to include guest appearances from label mate Mic Handz, Roc Marciano and Tha Rockness Monstah, among others. Let the trials of Innocent? vs. The People commence...
