"We put this out as a limited edition CD a while back, but I figured I may as well put it up for those that don't have it. This show was a big deal for me because Nas, who already was a legend to us back then, spit over a beat I had made that day. It was unfinished and muddy, but he liked it, and for like two days I was on cloud nine. Nas always had fun coming up to the show, and it's apparent. On the same show, Big L passed through...Rapper Nas and Big L in one show...not bad..." stretch armstrong

I recommend this post for anyone that is feeling a bit down. Listen to it, and within 10 mins, you will be laughing, guaranteed. If you aren't, go see the doctor. I haven't reviewed many shows in their entirety, but this episode of Krunchtime (what we came to call the 4-5 a.m. slot, when we were too tired to dj, focus, or be anything but delirious, and usually opened the phone lines to anyone) seems to embody the very best of what we could come up with under the circumstances. Just leading up to this, where this post begins, you can hear the tail-end of a Red Alert tape from the 80's that I was playing on the air because I was too tired to dj, plus it just was cool to broadcast a 1980's NYC radio show in the 90's, in NYC. Must have had some people bugging to turn on the radio and hear a KISS-FM radio ID, ON 89.9. Juicy Fruit gum - the taste is gonna move you!
"Listening to this segment makes me remeember how foul we were to the listeners, but they liked it. And I'm bugging on how in sync Sear, Bob and I were. A lot of the things we were doing on the air sounds planned but none of it was. We were just in the zone. Enjoy the following: listeners freestyling and getting dissed, listeners trying to diss but getting slayed, some yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo speed demonstrations, me rapping about snacks, the concentration clappping song about...snacks ("nuts" ayo!) and teaching someone how to improve his mother joke delivery. Joisus Bobby!!!"...stretch

"So I was just on the radio in New York City again for DJ Eclipse's 9 Year Anniversary show on WNYU. In addition to Kool Bob Love showing up, to my surprise, my man MC Serch did as well. I have to get on a plane in a few minutes, so I'll keep ths brief for now, but let me just say that with these two chaps, it felt like it was 1990- the timing, the jokes, the fun. Safe to say, we could have taken up the whole show just talking smack, but there were beats and rhymes to be had kids!!! So we dipped, though I think Serch did spark the mic a bit. Thankfully, Bobbito did not. Incidentally, Serch was our guest on our second show ever on November 8, 1990! Additionally, Two Kings In A Cipher, fresh out of Howard University, showed up (do I have to explain?- just google it) and a live rhyme session ensued over old school break beats provided by yours truly (I wasn't even Stretch yet, haha!...DJ Adrian, Skinny Bonz, what's it gonna be???!!...whoa). Some very entertaining lines were spit and the energy was trumungous. The next day, as I sat at Def Jam, I played the tape over and over, just loud enough for anyone walking by to hear so I could explain that yes, finally, we were on the air. This tape will be posted...hmmm, just looked through the files...I take that back. I will have to find it, but I know it's here somewhere. In the meantime, get down with this- Serch a la 1986 doing his best Slick Rick/Dana Dane impression (but the flow is already impeccable). Shout to pioneer Tony D."

QHH.com & Frank Diggs Present: Koncrete Jungle
I been bumpin' this album for the last week and I figured I would share it wit' yall. An album put together by my mello my man my co-d Frank Diggs. Now I don't wanna hype my dude up too much but this is one of the few people that I look up to in this game. I met Frank about 10 years ago and you can say that meeting gave birth to the Crown City movement. Frank has crafted many classic backdrops for us to do our 1 2 thing so for that I'm forever grateful.
This shit right here is a look into the mind of a Hip Hop Jedi Master. If you're only into the gun busting and drug slinging this album isn't for you. This shit is mos def for the more mature audience. The way Frank constructs an album you can just let it rock from end to end even if there's a song you don't like there's all these lil' interludes and hidden gems in between. Shit is crazy I don't know where he comes up with it.
Here's a couple samples just to give you that quick buzz but make sure yall get that full fix....

"Nuclear Winter represents many things. It represents dark times in our lives, it represents the state of NY hip hop & how I feel about it, & it represents my blueprint on how I think the music should be done going forward into the future. This is my manifesto to all the people that doubted me & the kryptonite to all selfishness. It's a journey from darkness into light, & from bondage & the huge amounts of weight on our shoulders to breaking free and regaining our freedom. Nuclear Winter we're coming to take shine....." - Willie Maze
