(Artist Spotlight) Fame & Chizz - Get Off
Circa 1999, when New York City's borough rivalry was at its worst, an unlikely friendship was formed between Brooklynite, FAME, and Queens native, CHIZZ. The two met in their freshman year at Louis D. Brandeis High School in Manhattan. One day while sitting in the lunch room they witnessed some of their schoolmates 'spitting some corny lyrics" and decided to go home and write some rhymes of their own. They soon formed a group with six other rappers and became known as the Dark Agez. This group disbanded quickly as it was apparent that FAME & CHIZZ clearly outshined the other members of the group. FAME & CHIZZ took a little break from the performing side of the business. FAME became an intern at Roc-A-Fella records, while CHIZZ interned at Ruff Ryders. After high school, CHIZZ went Norfolk State University in Virginia while FAME stayed in New York City in search of a record deal. They soon realized that they could get further if they worked together so CHIZZ returned to New York to search for a record deal with FAME. FAME & CHIZZ, formerly known as The Comission, have independently released more three mixtapes and have been featured on more than 15 mixtapes. They have toured the East Coast, performed at numerous college campuses such as Shaw University where they performed with Young Jeezy and Lil' Wayne. They also headlined a show at Alabama State University's Joe L. Reed Acadome in 2006. FAME & CHIZZ have been making quite a mark in the hip hop industry. They've been featured in numerous internet magazines/websites including Yoraps.com, Ballerstatus.com, Hiphopgame.com, UnderDaRock.com, HipHop.org, MusicSnippet.com as well as in Rap Fanatic Magazine and Hip Hop Weekly. Additionally, two of their videos "We Gon Ride" and "Ryder" can be found on YouTube.com. FAME & CHIZZ's remarkable talent, combined with hard work and determination will get them the deal that they deserve. The title of their first mixtape pretty much says it all about this duo. . ."Sleep When I'm Dead".

(News) #uknowufromQueens #1 trending topic on Twitter
#uknowufromqueens when you start a movement to take over twitter. For most of the day on Thursday Sept. 3rd, Queens was a #1 trending topic on twitter. Just when you thought it was safe, the rest of the boroughs took notice followed by every other city you can think of. BK & friends tried to "deebo" and take the Q borough's shine like some hungry BK stick up kids!!! haha. In the end they all came up short LOL. BK took the number one slot for a moment and then disappeared into twitter oblivion faster than Coney Island's "AstroLand Park". When the smoke cleared, Queens reigned supreme. Only the strong survive in Twietnam.

(New) Cormega due to release new album "Born & Raised" Oct. 20th
CORMEGA ANNOUNCES OCTOBER 20TH AS THE RELEASE NEW SOLO ALBUM,
BORN AND RAISED
"What's up with Cormega, have you seen him? Are y'all together?" The infamous lines that introduced Cormega to the hip-hop world are exactly what fans have been asking since the lyricist's last solo album, The True Meaning, in 2002. Well, if you're wondering the exact same thing, Cormega's back with his third solo album, Born And Raised, to be released October 20, 2009. "This album is the truest look into me not just as an artist, but as a writer and as a person. I came into my own in a lot of ways on this album," expresses Cormega. "Born And Raised is the first album where I talk about being a father and the impact my daughter has had on my life. It's also the first time I experimented with live sound without the guidance of a producer and the first time I got to record with producers and artist whose work inspired me to become an emcee.
While Cormega has released several projects on his Legal Hustle imprint, only two can be considered Cormega solo albums: The Realness (2001) and The True Meaning (2002). His third official solo album, Born & Raised, features production from DJ Premier, Large Professor, Easy Mo Bee, Havoc, Buckwild, DR Period, LES, Nottz, Fuzzy Womack, Ayatollah, Khrysis and appearances by Big Daddy Kane, Parish Smith, Grand Puba, KRS-One,Tragedy, Havoc, Lil Fame, Marley Marl, and Red Alert. His proudest musical moment during the making of Born And Raised was the recording of "Mega Fresh X" (produced by Buckwild) with Big Daddy Kane, Parish Smith, Grand Puba, and KRS-One introduced by Red Alert. "These were the emcees I looked up to so I wanted to pay homage to them. I remember the days when I had Kane's posters on my wall, CDs by KRS-One and like everybody in New York, I used to record DJ Red Alert cassettes off the radio, so for me to do a song with Kane, KRS-One, Puba, and P.M.D. and then on top of that have Red Alert on it, is a dream realized."
One of the most internet savvy emcees in the game, Cormega connects with fans on his own website www.legalhustle.net and on sites like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter. The album cover for Born And Raised was created entirely by his online community and is a result of his interaction with the fans. "Besides my own love for real hip-hop, the reason why I still record new music is for the fans. They energize me, encourage me, and are always full of ideas and I wanted to find a way for them to be a part of the creation of this album so I reached out to them online. The result is the whole concept of the Born And Raised front cover. The fonts, graphic editing, and layout were entirely created by fans and members of Cormega's online community. "I was born in Brooklyn, lived in Co-op City, Far Rockaway, and Queensbridge so you'll notice each place represented on the album cover," explains Cormega. "We also went through a stack of photos to select the images you see of me through the years." Join the message board at www.Legalhustle.net to become a part of Cormega's active community.

"Nuclear Winter represents many things. It represents dark times in our lives, it represents the state of NY hip hop & how I feel about it, & it represents my blueprint on how I think the music should be done going forward into the future. It's a journey from darkness into light, & from bondage & the huge amounts of weight on our shoulders to breaking free and regaining our freedom.
